Marinated Button Mushrooms
by adminThe marinate brings out the taste of the mushrooms and gives it an almost smoky taste – better than the mushrooms you will ever have in any restaurant!
Ingredients
- 1/2 punnet mushrooms, wiped clean and cut in half
- 2 tablespoons fruit chutney
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons worcester sauce or soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- pinch of salt and pepper
Method
- Place all the above ingredients into a dish that has a tight fitting lid.
- Shake it all together to make sure the mushrooms get nicely coated with all the marinate
- Marinate for at least an hour then place the mushrooms in a thick bottomed pan one by one – you don’t want all of the marinade in the pan.
- Pan roast it on top of the stove on high heat until the mushrooms are nice and sticky – about 10 minutes
Serves 2
You can use this as a starter or as an accompaniment to any main dish.
