Mushroom Burgers
by adminThis is a seriously yummy burger. I’m almost sure that once you’ve had a burger like this you will never return to the meaty variety!
Ingredients
- 2 Large brown mushrooms
- 1 tomato
- some lettuce leaves
- onion slices
- 2 burger buns
- olive oil
Method
- Drizzle some olive oil over the mushrooms and bake them in the oven at 180 degrees Celcius until done – about 20 minutes
- Drizzle some olive oil in a big pan and heat it on the stove
- Cut the buns in half and when the oil in the pan is hot enough, toast the buns cut side down in the pan until crispy and nicely browned
- Place a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a slice of onion as well as one of the mushrooms on a bun, add some salt and pepper to taste
- Use a sauce of your choice to drizzle over the mushroom – I normally make a mix of mayonnaise and chutney or you can make a quick mushroom sauce
Serves 2
Use your imagination and liven up your mushroom burger with some tomato and onion relish, or some fried onions. You can also add some red or yellow pepper to it if you like, or some garlic butter. The options are limited only to your imagination!
